From Sabelo Ndlovo,
I would like to thank Away2Xplore and its staff for the exciting, challenging and priceless experience I have had for the past three years of my life. I started traveling through this company at the beginning of 2012, from the first day that I landed on American soil with my fellow South African compatriots up until my last day with North American Midway Entertainment. It has been the most challenging and exciting thing I have ever done.
Good afternoon.
I would firstly like to thank Away2Xplore and its staff for the exciting, challenging and priceless experience I have had for the past three years of my life. I started traveling through this company at the beginning of 2012, from the first day that I landed on American soil with my fellow South African compatriots up until my last day with North American Midway Entertainment it has been the most challenging and exciting thing I have ever done.
In my first year I got the opportunity to travel with the show from the US into Canada and then back into the US all in one season.
During this time I witnessed myself and countless other colleagues of mine go from being young boys to becoming men on the road.
The work was new and challenging to me but with the help of my supervisors and fellow experienced South Africans I got into the thick of things in no time. I was assigned to a ride which will remain in my memory for a long time. When I arrived I had no experience with setting up, tearing down and maintaining of rides and equipment. By the time my first season was done I was capable of doing all these things and much more.
For the remaining two years I worked with the Mid America unit which is based mainly in Indiana and Michigan, we traveled these two states providing entertainment to Americans with our amusement park show. I am proud to say that through my travels with the show I have developed life long friendships with South Africans and Americans alike. I would like to thank Mr Blake Huston of whom I had the privilege of working under and Mr Robert Matejko my supervisor for teaching me so much about the carnival business and importance of hard work.
The road has had its challenges, but such is life. I've learned to appreciate what I have and have a blast while working very hard. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have never partied so much in my life, from Miami all the way to Toronto and back, seeing the most awesome places and people. Once again, a big thank you to Away2Xplore for providing this opportunity for me to travel and work overseas.
